For over 100 years, a family of faith has gathered at the corner of 10th and Main in downtown Georgetown, Texas to worship God and to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. For the first 65 years the congregation was known as First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
In 1989, FBC moved to its current location on West University Ave. At that time, 216 charter members, sensing a call to continue to preach the gospel in the heart of Georgetown, constituted Main Street Baptist Church and purchased the historic downtown property from First Baptist.
The decades have brought much change, both to the church and to the surrounding neighborhood. But the original purpose and passion remain, and the Lord continues to bless and renew the vision year after year. We are grateful recipients of this heritage, and we hope to pass it on to new generations of kindred hearts.
